Rankings are NOT the most important metric to measure, but there are advantages to knowing current rankings for relevant keyphrases.

Free online spellchecker: find a fast, free way to check web page content.

Free online spellchecker: here’s a fast and easy way to check spelling on your web page content.

Before we share how, you might be wondering, “What does an online spellchecker have to do with SEO?” Well, here are some things to think about:

1. If you misspell a keyphrase, then you’ve put yourself at a disadvantage. Sure, Google search engine spiders do a much better job now of “understanding” what you mean than they did, say, ten years ago, even with misspellings. But, it’s still important that you spell keyphrases correctly to give yourself the absolute best shot of ranking for them and of getting the targeted traffic you crave.

2. SEO also focuses on smoothing over the path to conversion and, when you misspell a word, you can break the connection that you were forming with a site visitor. It’s true that a misspelling won’t bother some prospects – but it’s also true that a misspelled word could be a deal breaker for other prospects.

3. Plus, sometimes misspellings are unintentionally funny – for example, when “mopping” (a method for cleaning floors) is spelled “moping” (brooding or sulking). Although site visitors might be entertained by misspellings, they’re also less likely to trust you as an authority.
